Magdalena Keck Gallery angular exhibition, Morgan O’Hara: LIVE TRANSMISSION, ON STAGE opened at Roll & Hill at 3 Mercer Street in New York City, on November 29, 2018 and has now been extended due to popular demand until May 13th, 2019.

The exhibition features drawings that capture the human movement of music, art, and dance performances recorded in real time by the artist using multiple graphite pencils at the same time. A line of text on the bottom is a coordinate of time, place, the creator, the performer and the piece itself. The series started in 1981, and 4000 drawings have been made to date.

O’Hara’s works are in private and public collections including The British Museum and Metropolitan Museum of Art. In the summer of 2018, a short film was made in Venice, Italy documenting the artist creating three LIVE TRANSMISSION works.

Here is a candid story by Brick & Wonder, that describes the inspiration and the motivation behind the venture: “From the Interior Designer: Launching an Art Gallery that Won’t Stay Put”.
